Sarah is currently a Ph.D. student in “Clinical Neuroscience” at the School of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Milano-Bicocca, under the supervision of Prof. Romero Lauro.

Sarah completed her master’s degree in “Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology across the life span” in 2020 at the University of Milano-Bicocca, discussing a meta-analysis on the role of affective valence in the elaboration of isolated words. Sarah obtained a B.Sc. degree in “Speech and Language Pathology” (SLP) in 2012. She enriched her theoretical background in language by completing a one-year post lauream master course in Aphasiology at “Casa di Cura Privata del Policlinico” of Milan and with a B.Sc. in “Psychological Sciences” in 2018 at the University of Milano-Bicocca. 

She worked as a speech and language therapist in the Neurorehabilitation/ALS Center of the Istituti Clinici Scientifici Maugeri IRCCS in Milan from 2012 to 2020, developing clinical expertise on neurological and neurodegenerative disorders, with a focus on language and cognitive disorders.

Currently, she is developing expertise in non-invasive brain stimulation techniques, namely tDCS, TMS, and TMS combined with EEG recording, and their application in both healthy and clinical populations.

RESEARCH AREAS

Her research project aims at exploring the behavioral and neurophysiological effects of online vs. offline tDCS protocols to find the best coupling between task execution and brain stimulation.
